So Long, IKON Eyes

I've worn IKON eyes for about as long as I can remember. I've had a few minor dalliances with other brands, but I always seemed to find my way back to IKON, and most recently I've been wearing the "Triumph" eyes in the "Tropics" color since mid-2016. I continued wearing them even after I fully migrated to a mesh head: while the eyes that come with the Lelutka mesh head that I use are better fit and rigged, I couldn't seem to find an applier for them that matched my color preference.

That's, in the last couple of weeks, changed. I've been keeping an eye on Avi-Glam for a while, now, because they've been producing some exquisitely beautiful Omega-compatible eye appliers. But none of them were quite right, until I found the "Charm" eyes in the "Lagoon" color. The color match isn't perfect, but it's close enough that you'd have to do a side-by-side comparison of close-ups in order to tell the difference.

The shame of it is that IKON could have kept me, if they'd kept with the times. Eyes are increasingly included in mesh heads, and so the market for standalone mesh eyes is disappearing; the future is in appliers. Unfortunately the "Triumph" eyes were IKON's last release, more than a year and a half ago. So now all that's left for me to decide is how many of my old outfits to swap out the eyes in.

Lelutka recently released a trio of new mesh heads, and I was seriously considering migrating to one of them to kick off 2019. I'd seen the Aida head, with the Glam Affair Nimoe applier, on a bunch of
